Galena

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS GALENA EQUIPMENT MADE FROM?

We use British Standard aluminium alloy, which is supplied to us as ingots, from Coleshill Aluminium Ltd, in West Midlands. Every ingot is certified as to its correct metal content. Many parts are made from stainless steel, and we use many components made from pure PTFE, or sometimes PFTE reinforced with other substances for extra strength. This gives a reliable "non-stick" movement to the working parts, with no need for frequent lubrication.

CAN WE USE GALENA EQUIPMENT WITH SEA WATER?

Yes. All parts have a protective Anodised coating and all screws and fasteners are stainless steel.

HOW LONG DOES GALENA EQUIPMENT LAST?

All Galena Equipment is date-stamped Month/year when despatched - i.e. 0201 means February 2001. Galena Equipment will give excellent service for many years, for example, for the same life as Fire-fighting Vehicle, say 10 to 12 years' fire-fighting, at least. We regularly receive equipment for Factory-Service, which are 15 to 18 years old. Please ask for our leaflet - "The Selection and Management of Light Alloy Fire Brigade Equipment".

CAN YOU MEET A SPECIAL REQUIREMENT?
